Claim: An X user (formerly Twitter) has alleged that lawmaker Frank Annoh-Dompreh has been retained as the Member of Parliament for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency.

Verdict: False! JUSTFACT GHANA’s investigation showed the lawmaker had not been declared as the Member of Parliament (MP)-Elect for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency, as alleged. The Electoral Commission (EC) Returning Officer in the Constituency has not announced the Parliamentary election winner.

Regulation 3(1)(j) of the Public Elections Regulations, 2020 (C.I. 127) clothes the Returning Officer with the power to “publicly declare as elected in a parliamentary election the candidate who had the highest vote.”

The Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency’s parliamentary election is one of the few constituencies whose winners have yet to be declared.

As alleged, the lawmaker Frank Annoh-Dompreh has not been retained as a Member of Parliament for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency.
