Attribution policy

JUSTFACT GHANA’s Attribution policy

We encourage our staff to be truthful about the source of their information. Our policy is that facts, data, and quotations in a story that were not produced by our own reporting must be attributed. JUSTFACT GHANA’s policy is clear that attribution of material from other media or third-party individuals must be total, not hidden.

Plagiarism is not permitted. It is the policy of JUSTFACT GHANA to give credit to other publications that develop exclusive stories worthy of coverage by us.

We want a reader to distinguish between what our reporter saw and what the reporter obtained from other sources such as wire services, pool reporters, email, and websites.

JUSTFACT GHANA places a premium value on original reporting and we encourage our staff to produce original content and this means being at the scene of events and talking to eye-witnesses or participants.

However, if a staff reconstructs statements or exchanges between people based on the recollections of those people or witnesses who heard them speak, they must attribute those recollections transparently.

In case of difficulties in applying this policy, we encourage you to contact JUSTFACT GHANA’s Editor at editor@justfactghana.com
